NorthWest Metro Playgroup - Friday, June 13th 10am
Hi everyone,
I got some good responses. It looks like it might be a rain-free day
tomorrow so let's try it!
Our 1st play date is tomorrow *Friday 6/13*, at *West (Optimist) Park*
in *White Bear Lake* at *10:00 a.m.*
The address is 4998 Johnson Ave., White Bear Lake 55110.
From Hwy 96 (East of Hwy 61), go South on Morehead St. and East on 11th St.,
park is one block up on right.
There are a couple of picnic tables and benches. Feel free to bring
snack/drinks etc. for your family.
Some of us have older kids and may want to check in to bring games, etc. for
them if they come too. Open to anyone interested - invite old friends and
make new ones!
*In the event of rain*, I will *reschedule for Saturday 6/14*. Hope to see
you there!

South Metro Playgroup Saturday, June 21st 10am
Each month Jodi arranges a play date that is open to all members. The location and date change each month, but the fun that ensues does not!
If you're looking for a couple hours of fun with other kids and parents, think about coming to one of her events. Not only will you get to meet up with friends and meet new people, but you might get the chance to find new play areas in town that you didn't know about.

Directions to Hyland Lake Park Reserve Richardson Nature Center and Recreation Area/Visitor Center/Play Area
From I-494, go south on East Bush Lake Road approximately 1/2 mile. Follow East Bush Lake Road' which will veer right (west) at the stoplight. Drive past the ski jump on the left; the Nature Center will be the next entrance on the left, about 1 mile. The Recreation Area/Visitor Center/Play Area/Cross-Country Ski Area will be 1 mile further south on the left side. Drive past Bush Lake Beach and Southern Division Administration Center and veer left to the recreation area entrance.

This blog is a source of upcoming events from our Google Group of the same name. Here you can visit past events, see what's coming and get general info about us. Let me know if you'd like to see something added or changed to make it more appealing, easier to use or just plain cooler.
Now, down to business. Our next event is going to be a picnic lunch at the Dragon Festival at Lake Phalen.
What: Potluck picnic at Lake Phalen (click for map)
When: Saturday, July 12th 10am
Who's invited: MN Red Thread members
What to expect: Meet people from the group you've only talked to online, lots of kids running around, food and the events that go along with the Dragon Festival.
What's the schedule? We'll arrive at 10am, get our spot set up (still TBD) and eat around 11 or 11:30. Families will be free to socialize with the group or go on their own to experience the Dragon Festival's wide range of activities. You can leave whenever you feel like it.
Since the event is listed as a potluck picnic I'm working on a sign up sheet for you to use. Please plan to bring either a dish to share or condiments and other things to make it happen. The sign up list will be showing up soon.
We'll also be announcing a more exact location at a later date.
